More about Dr. Trammell‘s story

“I have always been interested in analyzing people. When I was in 7th grade, my friend and a guy named Kenny met after school and had an official fight in the middle of a circle of onlookers. I wondered what made them wired in such a way that they would beat on each other.

I continued to be interested in “what makes people tick.” I studied religion and psychology in my first degree in college.

My interest in the spiritual as well the psychological helped me head to seminary school where I received a master’s degree. Afterward I worked with families in local church settings. I was a Youth Director, Business Administrator, Educator and Counselor. I would even lead music as a substitute worker.

One Saturday night the minister called me to come to the church. The janitor had “gone a little nuts” and walked out mumbling that he “would never scrub toilets again”. . . so the minister and I scrubbed toilets. I was very interested in the kind of problems that the outraged janitor displayed.

That night of toilet scrubbing and analyzing was one of many events that led me to make the decision to go to a major university and get more training. I took the coursework, received a doctor’s degree (not medical but psychological), completed the internships, and became a licensed psychologist.

I then helped a couple of churches start counseling centers; however, my interest has always been in meeting with people one on one.
